Books of Magic:
The Burning Girl
WRITTEN BY JOHN NEY RIEBER AND PETER GROSS; ART BY
PETER SNEJBJERG AND GROSS; PAINTED COVER BY MICHAEL WM. KALUTA
A new collection looks back at an earlier pivotal period - one in which the realm of
Faerie hangs in the balance - in THE BOOKS OF MAGIC: THE BURNING GIRL,
the latest VERTIGO trade paperback devoted to Tim Hunter's exploits. Written by John Ney
Rieber and Peter Gross with art by Peter Snejbjerg and Gross, THE BURNING GIRL reprints
THE BOOKS OF MAGIC #33-41, issues completing the epic "Rites of
Passage" storyline that finds Faerie under siege from without - in the form of an
invasion from Hell - and from within in the form of the transformed Molly O'Reilly. After
Tim and Molly escape the ravaged Realm, they wind up in Las Vegas, where, after a bizarre
casino adventure with Zatanna, they set out on some even more unexpected journeys.
Rounding out the volume is a cover gallery reprinting the elegant paintings by Michael Wm.
Kaluta and Sherilyn Van Valkenburgh that topped the original issues.
