With the lead stories in DETECTIVE COMICS and backup tales in BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS showcasing dazzling noir-flavored tales of the Dark Knight each month, it's the right time for an oversized trade paperback reprinting the Eisner Award- winning BATMAN BLACK AND WHITE anthology series, printed in the same larger size (7 1/2" x 11 5/8") as the sold-out hardcover edition. Included among the twenty remarkable stories within are the Eisner Award- winning "Heroes," written by Archie Goodwin with art by Gary Gianni; the Eisner- nominated "Perpetual Mourning," written and drawn by Ted McKeever; and "A Black and White World," written by THE SANDMAN's Neil Gaiman, with art by Simon Bisley. Other breathtaking storytelling efforts come from extraordinary comics artists including Joe Kubert, Brian Bolland, Walter Simonson, Bill Sienkiewicz, Bruce Timm, Klaus Janson, Howard Chaykin, Matt Wagner, and Teddy Kristiansen, with stories by some of the medium's best writers, among them Dennis O'Neil, Jan Strnad, Chuck Dixon, and Andrew Helfer.
